Job Description:
Systems Administrator
Lime Labs LLC, a new New York City-based software development & technology company with a sister office in India, is looking for a talented Systems Administrator who is self-motivated, enjoys start-up environments, and takes ownership of tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for the qualified applicant to work hands-on with a rapidly growing production infrastructure and with a team of talented developers launching innovative web products and services.
Responsibilities:
• Deploying and maintaining all web assets, including production servers, network and storage resources
• Responding to trouble-ticket escalation from both US and India and providing third-tier support for production infrastructure
• Identifying and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and responding to security incidents
• Participation in shared on-call rotation with other SAs
• Specification of new equipment by request and capacity forecasting and enhancement of existing equipment
• Maintaining quality vendor relations

Job Skill:
Qualifications:
• 4-7 years experience deploying and maintaining Linux servers in a production data center environment
• Significant Unix administration experience (Linux focus preferred)
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP protocol stack and OSI/RM
• Familiarity with modern server-class x86 hardware as implemented by major vendors
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Understanding of I/O workloads, data storage (RAID, SAN, Logical Volume Management) and backup concepts
• Knowledge of advanced Apache deployments (clusters, proxying, load balancing, SSL)
• SQL database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL preferred)
• Keen sense of security threats, attack vectors and incident response
• Familiarity with cryptography tools and concepts (SSH, OpenSSL, PGP/ GnuPG, PKI, IPSec)
• Fluency in shell scripting (bash, csh, ksh) and experience in a high-level programming language (Perl, Python, Ruby)
• Experience maintaining standard internet services such as DNS, DHCP, E-Mail (Postfix, Qmail, Sendmail)
• Ability to learn quickly and draw meaningful conclusions from independent research
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with minimal supervision
Bonus qualifications:
• Virtualization technology (Xen, KVM, VMWare, etc.)
• Remote system administration and monitoring technology (IPMI, SNMP)
• Cisco switch and firewall experience
• IPTables, High Availability and Load Balancing technology
• Configuration management, application deployment and automation technology
• Knowledge of distributed directories and authentication (Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory) in heterogeneous networks
• Windows or Mac OS X experience
• Ruby on Rails web cluster deployment
• Working with geographically distributed teams
